When is 3007 due to return?

Hello MinYoongi,

The latitude given for 3007 is 22ºS.

I would say around three - four days.

btw here is the still updating version of farside : http://jsoc2.stanford.edu/data/timed/td_farside/2022/2022.05/two_hemi/

Yes,  I see what you mean about their updates

3014 seems to be growing significantly again. Why does it always decay on the limb, then strengthen on the backside?

Hello MinYoongi:

I'm sure at some stage in SC 25 all our ducks will line up and we will get real Earth facing action.

Just have to be patient. It can be a bit frustrating,

I remember there was a lot of limb activity during SC 24.

Newbie :)

... and this group has just popped up out of nowhere!

I can't be sure how quickly it appeared compared with 3025 but I didn't notice it being reported anywhere.

No I didn't think you were frustrated with 3014 :) hahaha!

For me, it's a tad annoying when a lot of the activity is on the limbs or the other side.

Same, I hate limb X flares (like half of the ones so far this SC)

Hello Orneno, nice to start a conversation. :)

Just looking how that spot has developed, again too near the limb for my liking.

Hello mozy, also nice to start a conversation with you. :)

Yes, this group has certainly grown.

Glad I posted the earlier pic.

Ah, I see it, thanks.
Some pretty nicely mixed polarities.
Shame it’s western.

Yes, small  at the moment.

Should size and complexity increase in the next few days it will be awesome as it travels past the West limb. :(

I suppose the new spots just east of center will be 3027! Popped up pretty quickly!

Alas, look to the east! On the limb at about 40deg S latitude, we see something interesting coming into view…. Is that new, or are we seeing another go around from the week before last? Any thoughts?

To think it was almost boring just a couple of days ago!

You mean the South region coming in? And what do you mean with week before last? :D

sadly the southern region is only Plage right now and contains no sunspots.

Yes I do! (40 deg South latitude…), Have hope, it’s just coming into view. By week before last, I meant - is this the remnants of one of the ar’s from the week before last, coming into view again?

I do t know about Germany, but here in S Texas, that sun is high, hot and bright - too hot for long sleeves and I can’t use lotion - not good for the optics…. I really need to hook up a camera and buy a filter wheel so I can watch on the big screen in the a/c 😎.  My pup is a Malemute, so it’s about 62F inside (94F outside)!

Give you odds, 3 to 1 that the region coming into view has spots tomorrow’s!😏

Every sunspot right now is just sad and quiet

Hello SFT200 (hope you don't mind the abbreviation),

I tend to agree with you, but I'm sure it won't last!

By all accounts SC25 is exceeding expectations... and like we have seen lately, sunspots can appear out of nowhere.

Excellent news MinYoongi! I'll check it out! :) :)

Location was S16 E89.

Right on the limb. Probably not too much greater strength considering position.

Solar Flux Index (SFI) has increased a little - up 6 units.

:)

:)

Is that region also responsible for the jumpy background flux since 2:40 UTC?

Hello WildWill, I know you posted in another thread but I will reply here :)

After the limb flare yesterday I thought there could be spots appearing too but it looks like a plage area now.

Never mind even seasoned experts get it wrong. The Sun is predictable in its' unpredictability.

(So my dog is a Bull Arab - an Aussie breed ~ around 50 kg, her hair is very short, she sleeps in front of the wood fire with a blanket)

I'd swap you some of your 94F at the moment,  below 0ºC last night.

I’ve got highs in the mid-70s, pretty good, but I’d take some cool.
It was freezing? Dang, where do you live? (Like what country or state)
