Uhhh no. We're currently in what's called a "solar minimum". She's been quiet.

Ok I’m not trying to get off topic but we are not in solar minimum we are entering solar max which is still a few years away.

Where did you even get that from? What makes you even think that?

It's not earthquake predictions. It's correlation of data that outweighs simply being random or ironic. That's how science works. Just because you personally don't understand the mechanism doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Idk how my degree, current studies in heliophysics, and work at NASA would say makes me "underqualified" . 😁

Do you know anything about terrestrial geology and seismology though?

I have no idea what the heck the orange one is doing:

image.png.f4a99f9a226ab0fda63bea6d66bb52ac.png

It shrank slightly and split off the bottom

Did it hear me talk about it....umm.....Erm.....*whispers* decaying???

Well it's still quite huge

Comepared it with the Farside superflare from July 23, 2012….

Is it right that this one is larger?

This makes no sense whatsoever!

It lost almost 800 Points of "Strength" and also the size doesnt always mean it will fire off bigger flares. the 2003 regions were smaller than some sunspots and were more powerful.

Seriously... are you being serious?

That is pretty obvious...

Just out of interest I looked for a similar sized Farside AR occurring during Solar Maximum, when you might reasonably expect higher levels of activity. The table below seems to indicate that size is not everything, and if the comparison is valid we might be a bit disappointed.

F*ing big and bright

Hopefully @Solarflaretracker200didnt challenge the sun in an intend to make the region less interesting and smaller for us.

No. Just kidding, it h o p e f u l l y isnt a dud.

It’s similar to “put a spell on”, the idea that saying something makes it happen, like bad luck.
Btw, you can Google these thins instead of asking people too ya know, it’s faster and probably more accurate or helpful

Many thanks for your listing, 3gMike

Since todays (19.0) strengths is only "3290" it seems to decay very fast. So I personally do not expect a big show when optimal earth directed in a week or so. All in all the other two backside regions are increasing a little. Just another hope...
