Perhaps our sun was down for maintenance

It was trying to get its hemispheres working

together again, that it might achieve the 233

ssn many of us in amateur radio have been hoping for for some time now…

No, someone in tech support said they had attempted a Windows 10 update!  P-)

I was being more than a bit silly.  There have been a number of different predictions over the  last few years.  Currently Space Weather Woman is following very closely a theory related to the hemispheres for a very very simple explanation.  I think it results in a much greater solar max than all other predictions.  My apologies to her  if this in any way inaccurate,  as it is only the opinion of a neophyte, Me.

The 233 I referred to is a very old term us old guys practically worship (!) it refers to smoothed sunspot number over a period of time.   For example in solar cycle 19 the ssn was 201   and those of us still living can remember how much fun we had during those days   We lacked all of the modern tools and knowledge we now pretty much take for granted   we are still learning to be sure
