Yep, I was about to mention it, seems to have emerged quite recently. You can see it forming within the last ~10 hours or so:

Looks like the positive part of it is connected to the negative one to the left of it that it's moving away from, i.e. these two:

The positive umbra as seen on the i-gram isn't that big, but clearly there's still some complexity emerging.

Thanks for the resource.  I'm also using this other page http://jsoc.stanford.edu/HMI/hmiimage.html that @Philalethes kindly shared with me.  I'm getting familiar with some instruments at the moment, but I'm afraid it will take time to get fluent in them.

As always.

It's pretty tough to see aurorae at this time of the year anyway, so close to the solstice, so I guess it's fine for now. Later this year it will be sadder if spots like these pass quietly by without a fuzz. But then again, there tends to be more activity during the descent of a cycle than during the ascent if I'm not mistaken, so I guess it's just a matter of patience and playing the waiting game for now.

Yup, but even if it's impossible to see the auroras now I still would've loved to see some big flares pop off throughout this regions lifecycle since it grew so big but turned out to be a really underwhelming one anyways..
