Sam Warfel
There’s an interesting new sunspot complex emerging over the northeastern limb! It seems quite sizable. It’s hard to judge the complexity yet, and we can’t see the whole thing yet. But, based on the number of C-class flares and the steady rise in the background flux, it could be a complex sunspot group! I’m hoping for some nice flares, but who knows what it will do… Note the steady rise in background X-ray flux as the AR has rotated on. Now, it’s almost at C-class levels all the time. Marcel de Bont
These are two different groups for sure. While there is a lot of faculae which indicates decaying sunspots, this is not really true for 2975. There has been some aggressive spot growth there the past 24 hours. Keep an eye on this one. The group behind has yet to get a number.

Chris, HB9DFG
Hello all! Yes there is more around the corner! 😁 I wonder how it's developement will be. But thanks god, this time flux is remarkably rising and there is some hope for a little action next days! Time is over for not appearing glancing blows! Regards, Chris PS: how can I supress this linespace when pushing "return" for a new line?

That's one of the things @Vancanneyt Sandersaid to look for before getting excited about new regions. Sanders, do we have permission to get excited yet?

Isatsuki San
Sunspot 2975 and future large sunspot merged? As I see, I am seeing that it is connected to each other and not only that, but there is a new plague on top of the disc, the terminator did not occur or can it also happen with the terminator? Sam Warfel
Look at this flaring! Of the past 6 hours, it's spent all of it near c-class and half of it above, with a pretty decent C8 flare! If this is the normal activity for this AR, I can't wait to see what the fireworks are...

farm24
I feel like my solar database was good luck I put it up yesterday and pretty much right after it went active the C flaring started

jon_helioastro
So, is 12975 the first cluster type grouping we seen, then 12976 (the big one) ? or is 12975 the entire group? Thanks

Thanks To me these are two regions, a gap between both and both have a clear leading spot with trailing spots. The spots closest to the limb might also be separate but those are also still too close to the limb to tell.
jon_helioastro
Thank you. this is exactly what I think also. would there be a reason for the delay in designating an AR? 🙂 Thanks

jon_helioastro
I'm sure they are busy with other tasks. fortunately we have a great community here and I've learned so much so making my own predictions 69% of the time is true. 😄
Vancanneyt Sander
Region 2975 developed throughout the night and has some magnetic delta structures harbouring energy for M-class solar flares. It’s now the most complex region on the disk. 2
