I think we won't see any CME since it's still magnetically caged according to the page that @Philalethes shared earlier.

But 195Å shows literally nothing sooo… But I don‘t know if it always shows up on 195 so yeah

Adohran
Looks like it needs another round of farside fun to actually give us a CME😂
hamateur 1953
It wouldn’t surprise many of us here if it returns again. 11976 took three passes in 1972 before it started dealing out the big stuff our way. To get a good region on the way up to solar max is very encouraging to me anyway.

Yeah, I think there definitely might be something to that. The apparent eruption when mozy mentioned the rising loops earlier too seemed to get dragged back down very fast too. When @Parabolic first mentioned the paper not long ago I assumed that such levels of flux were mostly going to occur with much larger regions, but it's certainly the case here, and has been checking out so far. Of course this is a small sample size for our observations, but it's interesting. Here's a plot of how the unsigned flux of the region has developed so far, with the boundaries mentioned in that paper plotted in as well: I've cut it off at 2e+22 since the regions move through a lot of low values as they enter and exit at the limbs. As you can tell, it's well within the territory where very few eruptive flares were observed, although it should be noted that there were only 4 or 5 X-flares included there that occurred when the flux was that high, and one of them were one of the only two eruptive flares that happened in that range of flux. Interestingly 3590 never broke that upper bound, even though I thought it would; it did however stay near it for most of its duration, including from very early on, whereas 3615 was still at much lower values in the beginning and then started to climb. Interesting difference in how they developed. Here's a plot of 3590 too for good measure: Edited March 28 by Philalethes cutoff at 2e+22 instead

Jesterface23
This most recent flare seems somewhat similar to the previous X-flare event. Obviously this one was double peaked. Though in SDO AIA 171 imagery there was a flare to get things going then 2 or 3 different areas within the region had their own flares during the event.

Donki is stupid to coordinate, can you provide me the link to the CME you mentioned? I myself saw no real CME leaving. But noaa seems to agree. @mozy may be interesting for you! @Jesterface23 what are your thoughts? https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/news/limb-event-cme-associated-x1-flare-28-march-2024 here is NOAAs article about it. They say they will model it but the south/western direction make it unlikely.

Do you think it has an earth directed component? I mean, seems to be very minor so that would prompt the question if it can even reach L1 I guess. I’m just wondering because NOAA usually does not report tiny puffs 🤔 but I also recently noticed they post much more (and also more lively) on social media like Twitter/X - maybe some new social media staff 😂❤️

MeteoLatvia
Looks like the region is yet again getting brighter in AIA 131 - more acitivity starting to ramp up there.
