how so? does it HAS to go higher/peak? I think its forecasted for around Midnight UTC which is very soon!

It doesn't necessarily have to go much higher. It could be peaking soon which would coincide with CME arrival.

Well, my conclusion is the epam that I do not see a speed or an arrival of a cme so I calculate that it will take 2 hours later than expected or 4

Hmm, but didnt others say it doesnt has to get higher?

The EPAM may have started its rise, so maybe an arrival any time from now to the next 8 hours.

Not necessarily

cool, thank you.

the earlier the more geomagnetic storming to expect, right?

The faster, the better the odds are. The max velocities from an arrival right now could be around 700km/s.

oh, i thought faster. damn.

i still remember an 800+ Coronal Hole windstream :)

nice :) since its 2hrs "late" (take late with a grain of salt since we cannot pinpoint arrival) how fast do you think it could be and is G2 still in the cards?

G2 is definitely still in the cards! I think the assessment remains unchanged, G1-G2 is expected tonight with a chance for G3.

I’m sorry, WHAT??

mustve been august or september 2019. :) G2-G1 storming for 2 days (on and off) I think you can search the archive for it! :) One of my favorite space weather youtubers (not fearmongering) even featured it in a stream after i reminded him about it :D

Its back down now :( isnt a cme arrival a slam?

That must have been some kind of shockwave, the speed dropped all the way back down so it wasn’t the CME

Explain what was rapidly rising?

The solar wind speed was, it spiked to about 620km/s
