An over-simplified definition of a delta spot would be: a spot super close to a spot of the opposite polarity.

Jack
I don’t know about a ✌️Killshot✌️ But, it sure is nice to see sun spots form a little closer to the equator. Not that I’m against the consistency of coronal holes forming at the equatorial region but, I much prefer seeing a complexed Sun Spots there any day. It did not get more complex, be patient we will tell if it gets more interesting I know that they constantly change i was just so excited because on solen.info i read the following : "Region 13004 [S15W03] developed further and has a small magnetic delta inside an intermediate penumbra. M class flaring is possible." And thats why I asked. I just grew cautious with Noaa always calling regions BGD when there was no Delta present. I just trust you guys more 🥰💕 I hope that somewhat clarifies why I asked 🙂
mozy
So annoying following this region when SDO has been messing up for a whole day now.. No new images since 8PM UTC yesterday.. Any other possible solution/source to see the HMI Colorized Magnetogram?

Sotiris Konstantis
I just saw a close up of AR3004 and I see major growth with β-γ-δ complexity. Large X class soon?
Vancanneyt Sander
It has grown significantly and has a strong delta structure in its mids with the potential of M-class flares and a possible X-class flare.

Thank you for the promised update! May I ask something? I always thought Delta's make X-Class Flaring *very* probable but from what I can read, people still expect more M than X - Class Action?
