It's definitely not entirely clear; but I seem to recall that the last such region started out roughly like that too. To me it also looks like the negative (red) area is leading, although perhaps it's really two regions close together:

I guess it's something more to keep an eye on anyway, alongside everything else that's happening right now.

not really spectacular though

Yup, but It's interesting since we thought it could be another Anti-hale sunspot and they tend to produce eruptive flares despite not being complex.

Hopefully first of many to come, would love to see more growth though.

Thirteen of the last 20 solar flares have come from AR 13376.

It is now beyond the West limb but in its journey across the sun it racked up 5 M class flares and 27 C class flares.

Not a bad effort.

N.

Even beyond the limb it just produced this huge blast right now. Looks like a real big explosion, can literally see ejecta clearly visible across every single wavelength on SUVI.

Yes, it looks like it is still developing. It was recorded as growing even as it rounded the limb, which is quite unusual.

The Photospheric Maps below give some indication how the fields have  grown in the last month (location C235 / 22N)
