mozy
Now it's erupting at the same location as AR3229 did, it starts flaring at the exact same locations, both near the eastern limb & now again, interesting. Reminds me when Tamitha Skov says different regions usually flare at the same locations due to something sizzling under that certain area, now if that's true or not I have no idea but it seems plausible. Almost X-flare, could we have another round of CME's coming our way? Edited February 28, 2023 by mozy

The flare was more impulsive than the ones before I think but it could still be eruptive, any dimmings yet?

That's because the others were caused by a filament release, this one is not. It seems something is lifting but not enough images to say yet. arjemma
Of course it wakes up when coming close to the limb 🙄 Will be interesting to see how long the eruption will be.
Vancanneyt Sander
Being a short impulsive flare chances it launches a CME is lower, and even if it has one it won’t likely be earth directed like many times with impulsive events… up to the next 😆
mozy
Something did seem to get launched but looks pretty minor.
arjemma
Looks like there is a small area of dimming but not much. So very impulsive. Kinda beautiful though. Edited February 28, 2023 by arjemma Added image

MatejGrek
First dimming images look pretty gnarly. Of course it waited until it's far away on the limb. Sigh.
MinYoongi
I didnt notice any crazy development from it, so i was surprised to see the X.
No pseudoscience
Why is the x-flair shaped like this? Also, if there is a simpler way to do this, please tell me. (I took a screenshot, cropped out everything but the graph, lowered the resolution, and inserted it into this reply)

Inside the circle ( I tried my best to make a circle), the flare decayed much slower after it dropped below x-class.

It seems a bit too west for that to happen, but what do you guys think?
