If they are returning sunspots, please list them!

2940= old sunspot 2926

2939= new

O.K. you are correct to say that AR2940 is the old AR2926. It seems that it may have developed on the farside since it has already produced 5x C flares today - compared to only 4x B flares (over 7 days) on last appearance. We know that the AR was initially identified as an H Alpha Plage on 10th January, and developed into a Beta spot on 12th January. Would you count that as being 'born' on the 10th or the 12th? How does that match with the predictions you made for sunspots in January?

And when do you think AR2939 was 'born'?

Born = first small sunspot in high resolution. Will see when Jan Alvestad updates for January.

NASA can never find the sunspot theory because they list a sunspot sometimes DAYS after it has been BORN!

2939= hard to tell because STEREO isnt working. Depends from reactions on alignments

This is a possibility for 2940... Old 2926

2022-02-06 12:00 UT filament eruption near AR2939 possible Earth-directed CME

Ah ye I see it. Close to center-disk, but it kinda appears to be largely directed eastward. Perhaps the Parker Spiral effect will bring it around.

No LASCO footage yet, gotta wait for that…
