So are you suggesting that it is actually more disc like than spherical?

No, an oblate spheroid (Google it if you want) is basically a sphere (ball) that bulges out in the middle.

The Earth does this due to the centrifugal force (Google that too if you need to) from spinning around its axis, it bulges out at the equator very slightly. The Earth is about 27 miles wider at the equator than it is measured from pole to pole.

if you take the plane and you keep flying westward, you’ll get back from where you came because you flew around the Earth. Simple

all satellites that are orbiting Earth are in various orbits around the Earth.

if you look at the moon every day and see the craters you’ll see the moon is a sphere as well.

if you look at a video of 28 days of the sun, you’ll see that it rotates around its axis and is a spheroid.

there Is no such thing as a 2D flat earth

If the earth was flat the universe would have to be flat as well. Same with any star, planet or moon.

So @Christina.F does Australia not exists sense the earth is so called flat?

Don’t believe me yet? Here is more proof:

You've heard of the man in the moon, get ready for the man in the sun

From the first pic, they don't seem very happy. :(

Yea but a picture is 2D isn't it so again I'm looking at a flat disc

Aren't all pictures? Perspective is one hell of a drug. :)

Like coins fed into a slot machine, rolling triple 6's.

Think of the characteristics of a disc. An oblate spheroid is a 3D round object that is trending towards looking like a disc, but is also riddled with topographical features and convexes out from a bisecting line(in this case, the Equator).

In fact, if you were to imagine the closest thing in reality to "the edge of the world" it would be the Equator because that is where gravity at the surface is lowest :)
