Going out with a bang did they produce cme's? Is there footage? Did it feel special to watch that event back then? or did it feel more normal due to higher rated flares around that time?

Well a few days prior we had the X17 that delivered a full halo CLE that had a record transit time and caused a G5 extreme storm with Aurora as south as Spain! The X28 was the cherry, but do note that the GOES satellite reached saturation at X17 (see archive), it was in the weeks later it was determined to be X28. The CME of the X28 was also huge and although it was on the limb, it did reach Earth! It was a truly great 14 days of solar activity 🤩
Sam Warfel
Would GOES still saturate at X17, or has that changed to allow them to read higher?
