AbeH
So it appears we are under the influence of a G2 storm right now but I am reading the possibility of a G3?
Marcel de Bont
Yes we are. I guess the G3 bit was a prediction from the Wing-Kp index? It didn't reach G3 as far as I know.

WyoMan
Unusual seeing them at only 20:30 local time and the Kp was only 6 at the time. It usually has to be near midnight and a Kp7 to see them here... A pleasant surprise!
Spookwoman
New to site just to let you know the Aurora was just about visible with naked eye through clouds this morning at 2am UT or 3am GMT from southern Ireland ref 52.258746, -7.937965. Area known as The Vee on the Waterford Tipperary border. Could see a slight tinge to the sky but camera picked up a lot more. Not often we get to see it this far south, usually have to head to Donegal or Antrim.
