Shame we won't get hit but hey, this region survived the last rotation, maybe it'll survive another?

And maybe not wait until it's on the limb to have a few flares 😞

  • I think we should be very careful with trying to find patterns like this and then believing it when it's 99% a coincidence. It's in the nature of us humans to find patterns to get understanding on thi

Wow what a turn of events! I’m now wondering if it’s going to steadily grow on the far side. It seemed that after a while it stopped losing complexity, although I don’t remember any new deltas or anything interesting. Is it certain it’s still in decline?

I saw it just know and some of the blue spots decayed. So i doubt it could steadily grow on the far side

Time for brekkie as the Aussies say. Sending some protons my way.  Heck just in time!!  We were nearly out too.  Should be here pretty soon!!

New flare by the looks, wonder if it's another from this region

It's late and I'm supposed to be asleep but the sun keeps doing stuff

Ooh X1.55! that's a nice little goodbye flare 🙂

That X must have done the sunspot in. Because it began to decay more soon after. Even on Gong, you can tell that it's not as big and it must have decayed more then.

It was quiet for days until the region came to the limb again. It was so obvious.

Note to self: never underestimate 3697 thinking that it has already given everything

Probably another X-flare but occulted?

Stix could probably tell us, i think its in a good position (I suppose?)

Well that's not needed anymore, we're reaching into X, and even if we don't it's obvious now that it indeed is another X-flare

true :)

This one has gotta trigger another CME based on the steady rise ! I know it won't be earth directed but still very cool!

Yeah, it's pretty much a certainty; but SolO should be in position indeed, so maybe it'll tell us something interesting.

There seems to be another CME, but i guess directed away from earth´?

Where do you get that data? Neither soho or stereo images show anything yet
