no 2017 one wasnt a direct hit as far as i know but maybe ask @Vancanneyt Sander he should know

much depends on the distribution of the CME if there is one. If it’s a very wide and broad CME, due to the Parker spiral effect it could give a glancing blow like the one of the X28 (with correction factor) that occurred just after the limb.

Well, crazy 2017 vibes right now... almost exact same position on the limb and X8 again, same as back then. Remember that day pretty vividly.

Yes I would not be surprised if we get a glancing blow. Last time it didn't do more than a kp 4+ though if I saw correctly but still...

I have only watched the EIT waves and that they reach the equator (where earth is). We will have to wait on LASCO though. I do think we will get some though.

The waves are faint in the outer parts though so won't be a huge hit from what I can see now.
