SOHO C3 artifacts

is that the right term? there's a bunch of digital artifacts on the feed, the stars are blurry and there are lines, and am i imagining things or do i see them on the C2 faintly as well?

what happened? did they take a whack or is it something else?

nvm i think its just data compression on the gif, i dont see it on the other gif option. i was a bit premature

I only see one sun grazing comet!

Artefacts if the you are referring to the small points of light on the Lasco C3 images are are due to high energy particles hitting the detector, bits of dust, or even material coming off of the spacecraft. The comet is visible now in C3.
 

Lasco C2 shows a long comet tail. That’s about it. There’s a pic of it in the comet thread (because you posted it 😊)
