Arrived and already accredited with two M class flares to date.  Certainly an improvement!  Bears watching imho.

Yes, an encouraging start. That zone did not look particularly promising last time we saw it, so it looks like the magnetic field must have developed during the transition of the farside.

The M class flares came from a farside sunspot still hidden behind the edge of the sun and not AR 3477 which is quite, Mars perseverance rover has a image of it and it looks big.

Yep, it all was not from 3477,but from a farside region

Ok. Well it isn’t unusual on limb events to see misattributed flares.  Solar soft may revise. Good calls y’all.  Mike/ Hagrid.   If @Newbieis correct, or rather all of ya are correct in one way or another, we should be in for quite a show if what is currently visible to us in 131 A remains active in the next week or so!  🤞

Certainly initially Solar Soft attributed the flares to this active region. They have since indicated the M1.4 came from an unnumbered area at E 88

SWPC also had this comment:

Solar Activity .24 hr Summary... Solar activity reached moderate levels. An M1 flare was observed at 01/0626 UTC that appears to be from the vicinity of Region 3477 (S12E86, Hsx/alpha).

I would agree that it doesn’t look that active but clearly it is not fully in view N.

Also of note: Spaceweather.com featured the activity around this AR 3477 and concluded the flares were magnetically connected to this region and an AR that was still hidden behind the limb but was observed by Perseverance rover!

Awhile back it seems we either were mistaken ( unlikely, as several shots were taken) of a pair of regions on the backside.  Our hopes were dashed when very little finally made its appearance to us in the following week.  The rover shot you indicated should prove very interesting for comparison soon!
