Howdy All Y’all,

A little ancient history fer ya if’n ya gotz insomnia!

In the following paper (c. 1925), George Hale & Seth Nicholson introduce their law of sunspot polarity to the scientific community.  In case you are unaware, George Hale was a pioneer in solar physics and discovered that sunspots are magnetically active. 
In my view, it’s often useful to understand the history around how things came about and why. It often provides invaluable insights into current day methodologies, by presenting the evolution of our understanding,
