In the following paper (c. 1925), George Hale & Seth Nicholson introduce their law of sunspot polarity to the scientific community. In case you are unaware, George Hale was a pioneer in solar physics and discovered that sunspots are magnetically active. In my view, it’s often useful to understand the history around how things came about and why.
