CH 20 and Holiday Storming!

A G2 Moderate storm watch was just issued for September 4th (Sunday) due to the arrival of a positive polarity HSS resulting from a large equatorial coronal hole now facing earth. I agree with the G2 as this CH should be solidly geoeffevtive. Active auroras may last a few days after as well.

Are coronal holes tracked and identified with a number like sunspot active regions? I was wondering because the title says CH 20 and take that to mean “coronal hole 20”?

Yes, kind of! Because Coronal Holes can be recurrent too

The media often over exaggerates it, they seem to think the “maximum expected” KP is just “expected”, they think it’s what we think will happen, not what we think the best case scenario would be

The positive polarity coronal hole that brough spectacular labor day weekend storming is coming back around, this time being accompanied by 3110. Still looks solid at the equator, so could bring minor storming. Does not look as prominent as last rotation.
