Kaimbridge
Is GOES-17 now the primary provider (rather than 16) for flux/flaring (at least with SWPC), or is this just temporary?
Christopher S.
Could try asking them directly https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/content/contact-us
Vancanneyt Sander
For X-ray GOES-17 is primary, GOES-16 secondary. As new GOES satellites are launched eventually the newer one will become primary after a while.

Yeah, I figured it would at some point, I just wasn’t sure if this was it or just temporary (related to the eclipse season or something?). Plus it doesn’t seem across the board yet (e.g., the proton-flux map appears still GOES-16). Do you know when it happened? I did look on the event/news page, but I didn’t see anything. 🤓
