Future time stamp glitch

I noticed about two weeks ago that the time stamp on only the hemispheric power graph was marked at 35-40 minutes into the future. Now it is about an hour ahead of real time. None of the other graphs have this problem. What kind of glitch pushes time into the future? Please advise. Thanks

Hello Kate,

I don't believe it's a glitch, it's a measurement of what can be expected in the near future, in other words it has a predictive aspect. Similar to predictions for Kp Index. Interesting you picked up on that though. :) The other graphs are probably reporting near enough to real time.

The hemispheric power is indeed a forecast or prediction based on input data from the real time solar wind data from DSCOVR. Because the solar wind is measured at L1, the model attempts to forecast geomagnetic conditions in the near future. I do not think there are satellites in orbit or other ways to measure the true hemispheric power so we got to do with the model which provides an estimate.
