ron
The first time I ever saw the Northern Lights I was living on a farm in western Oregon. The sky was in motion but I couldn't see anything moving. Eventually I saw that the moving was a dark brown and the background sky was black. The whole sky was moving in a repeating back and forth motion as it was moving toward the earth. The color brown was almost a physical feeling. It was not the first time I had looked at the sky. It was a normal thing to do. But the whole sky was moving. It was in the early 1970s-before a lot of solar activities.
