Bedreamon
Just as a heads-up for everyone (and I guess a question as well), there's gonna be maintenance and testing done on SWPC products and services on March 22nd and 29th, as well as April 4th and 12th. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/news/planned-system-testing-and-maintenance-16-march-2022 During these downtimes, where would you go for information, especially stuff like HMI Intensity/Magnetogram as well as GOES X-ray flux? Will it be down the whole day all four days? And will the data backfill after each one? Looks like it won’t be PLANNED - SYSTEM TESTING AND MAINTENANCE 16 MARCH 2022 published: Monday, March 14, 2022 14:21 UTC You may notice disruptions in products and services during SWPC's planned system testing and maintenance. Bedreamon
It doesn't say in the post. It also didn't say anything about that during some downtime on March 8th, which was also for about 5 hours.
Marcel de Bont
I guess there will be occasional outages on the mentioned dates but normally its not so that they don't provide any data at all for hours at a time. Shouldn't be that way at least.
Vancanneyt Sander
It’s system testing, likely to see how their servers can handle big loads during solar maximum when traffic is very high. So during system tests there can be delays in data delivery, reachability and maybe some downtime. It’s pretty quiet now on the sun so perfect time to do the test before the sun is getting more active.
LunarLights58
I think it was also for other NOAA-based services, even for the NWS.
