Sam Warfel
No notification was issued for the recent CME arrival, even though it seemed pretty significant. Ā It would be nice to be notified of impacts like this. Ā Is it perhaps possible to increase the sensitivity of the automated detection, probably looking at many different data streams to mitigate bad data? Ā In my experience, glitches with the data happen with the solar wind speed and density, but I've never seen one happen across both the SW and IMF plots at the same time the way a CME impact typically does. Ā Could this be leveraged to increase the detections but keep it resilient to bad data?
Solution Marcel de Bont Posted March 14, 2022 Solution Share Posted March 14, 2022 There was an automated CME impact detection. I got it on the app and here is the alert on Twitter, I think you just missed it? We have very robust coding in place to make sure those data glitches dont trigger the CME alert.
