CMEs generally get more of the spotlight than CH HSSs, even if they might produce the same severity geomagnetic storm.  I guess the potential for a strong storm is greater with CMEs, so we pay particularly close attention to them.

It’s also much easier to predict a CME impact than a CH HSS, or especially a CIR.

Ahh as an old guy I long for the days of yesteryear when BLM was the US Bureau OF Land Management.  what the heck ist a  CIR preytell?  thanks!  Mike. 

please don’t assume I meant anything disrespectful by the blm reference, poking fun at myself for my continued bewilderment at the increasing use of contractions in everyday use around me! thanks in advance. mike
