what is this on the LASCO images?

It's the star Antares.

We know it's not a planet or a comet because it moves along with the background of the stars.

You can overlay a LASCO image with a star chart with Sun and planets to match up the patterns for a given day.

Just to the right and below Antares is a small fuzzy sphere which is the globular cluster NGC6121 aka Messier object M4.
