i still cant figure this out

despite making the length longer of my vids in jhelioviewer the clips always have less than 100 frames 

here is the one with the shorter number of days

and now the longer one

Can you show me the options you choose in the New Layer menu? I can't upload images, so I can't help that way.

Where do I find that when I click on new layer it just shows the different images

That is where you need to edit a value. When the list of images comes up there is an option of "Time step" that is 30 min(minutes) by default. That will result in getting images at a 30 minute interval. You can change that interval and unit of time.

 

Edit:

In the top menu go to File > New Image Layer... and that will bring up the correct menu.
