There’s a geomagnetic storm in progress. The IMF is also steady southward for several hours after a minor CME impact. The hemispheric power is pretty strong as well at both poles because of that

We are indeed seeing some very nice solar wind/IMF conditions at Earth right now which already caused active geomagnetic conditions which equals a Kp4. Minor G1 geomagnetic storm conditions are not out of the question if the current conditions persist. The computer model you posted reflects these enhanced solar wind conditions.

It seems that the geomagnetic storm has not yet occurred and it stayed like that, and the magnometers seem to be lowered to kp8, curious question is it dangerous for the magnometers to reach kp9?

I saw the Kiruna Magnetometer reached -1027 nT. Too late and cloudy for me in Manitoba, but very interesting. I wonder what the aurora looked like!

Kp reached G1 minor geomagnetic storming. The local k-indice at the kiruna magnetometer was briefly K8 so middle latitude regions wouldn’t have at that moment aurorae visible on the northern horizon.
