Kari A. Kuure
On Thursday (June 10), a partial solar eclipse will be seen in the region of Northern and Central Europe. Currently, weather forecasts indicate a relatively good chance of seeing it from a clear or partly cloudy sky here in Tampere (Finland). At its maximum, the Moon covers about 42.5% of the diameter of the Sun. However, we still have pandemic restrictions, so the Astronomical Society Tampereen Ursa will not hold a public show during this time. Instead, we’ve decided to try streaming a telescope view on YouTube. This is actually the first time we’re doing something like this, so there’s always some sort of surprise involved. Hopefully, however, everything will go well. If you are interested in seeing how we succeed in streaming, you will find it on Tampereen Ursa channel eclipse-live stream a few minutes before the eclipse begins at 12.48 local time (11.48 Central European Time). In this context, would it be interesting to know what plans there are elsewhere in Europe to monitor the eclipse?
Vancanneyt Sander
No big plans here in Belgium for the eclips, havent seen a word about a livestream here. On our Dutch astronomy website SpacePage we do have a promotion campaign for the upcoming solar eclipse so we do make it buzz in our Country Our maximum is about 26%
