Drax Spacex
What is that bright (and apparently spinning) object or artifact in LASCO C3 imagery right of center in slow retrograde motion compared to the background moving towards the Sun? I noticed it on 06-Dec-2020 and it's still there, moving right-to-left. Comets can sometimes be seen in these coronagraph images as they traverse around the Sun. But this looks different. A "planet" or satellite perhaps?
Tristan
It is Mercury traversing the far side of the Sun relative to Earth. You can often see Mercury and Venus in coronagraph images. 1
