martiumdecensorium
Hi, im very new to solar weather watching so please excuse me if i'm being dumb. I noticed today that there was a huge dip in magnetometer data, down to -1368nT. I looked into this and this is classed as a G4 geostorm, almost G5. It only lasted for 30~ minutes but this still seems pretty major. I haven't seen anyone report on it yet so i assume i'm missing something. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you! Vancanneyt Sander
One magnetometer station can record a stronger disturbance than other magnetometer stations on a different location. Kp is derived of several magnetometer stations and local stronger disturbances can't be seen there. For European watchers that dip means a lot to have a nice storm to lower latitudes when that happens
