Question regarding data from NOAA

Hi! I've a question regarding the 30 minute aurora forecast data from NOAA ( http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast )

I'm downloading the data for this, which I fetch from http://services.swpc.noaa.gov/text/aurora-nowcast-map.txt , but I'm a little bit confused if the coordinates that should used for this should be geographic coordinates or geomagnetic coordinates. I have sent emails to NOAA but never received a reply, so if any of you guys would know, I would love to here!

Best regards,

Viktor

The answer is in the file:

# 1096 values covering 0 to 360 degrees in the horizontal (longitude) direction (0.32846715 degrees/value)
# 512 values covering -90 to 90 degrees in the vertical (latitude) direction (0.3515625 degrees/value)

You'll just have to calculate which field is appropriate for you location.
To make it convenient we have on our website many locations in our list with the percentages. Easier than cruising in that file ;)

Thank you very much for your answer!

Yes I already found this information but it doesn't state if the longitude and latitude are geographic or geomagnetic coordinates. Sorry for not being clear enough in my question.

So do you use "normal" GPS-coordinates, or do you convert them to geomagnetic first?

Ok great! Makes it a bit easier then!

Thank you both for the answers! :)
