I have been a lurker for around a year but have always been interested in Space weather, so sorry if this is not the right way to do it.

This sunspot group on the Limb looks like it has a lot of sunspots in it and is responsible for the M1.48. look promising.

is this a new sunspot group?

There's a new sunspot group on the far side, and one M3 gave out yesterday.

Been slowly making a simple NE limb video and finally decided to finish it last night as JSOC will be down for 6 hours for maintenance to fix data gaps.

Yup. And although we may be at the end of the CME for the time being, another dude is on the way with fireworks hopefully to spare…. M class on the limb. Yay!

And its going quiet on the center of the disk

Yeah but full moon when he arrives so even if he casts anything our way, the light would be competing

Its a very long M flare currently. We need a replacement or two for next weeks CME schedule 😎

Depending on when it sprays us with plasma of course. But on our way to the Full Moon Blues indeed. Edit: just watched the latest 131 movie. This SH region nearly here now is very active. Excellent news for next week we hope….

For those of us waiting patiently for more fun our sun may be entering another period of higher activity. It seems that several new regions have quickly appeared on our side and the opposite side isn’t looking as bad as it did last week. Here’s hoping. 😊

There's one spot about to rotate into view that has slowly grown in size over the past week or so but it's probably alpha or beta (blue arrow). There are two other AR's that have gained additional spots and seem to be slowly growing as well (red circles). What interests me most is what looks like a huge area of plage with small spots/pores center disk (hand drawn purple line). I don't remember seeing any features worth mentioning on the farside center disk yesterday.

I frankly missed the large plage area entirely while looking around for something dark.😊 I had hopes for 14006 but it seems to be dying rapidly.

Have hopes for what I'm guessing will become 4114, instead 😉 Constantly seen energetic flares from it in the last 2 days, just hoping it'll continue after it rotates in to view 👀

Edit: Looking at the regions proximity to one another I'm guessing both 4114 and 4115(currently unnumbered) are responsible for the activity I've seen, but 4115 seem particularly energetic.

Cool @Rudolph Apparently Solarham has been watching plasma being slung east as well, Guess I missed this. Looking forward to higher activity next week, maybe.

Haha. No sooner did I post that now and in 131å something began spewing at about 40 degrees NE🤣🤣

Edit: pretty impressive and it certainly looks to be further behind the two newest regions to me anyway. Cool.

Dr.Tamitha Skov has posted her latest youtube video in the last 10min with her thoughts of the upcoming week including what Solarham been watching. Few interesing features she noted aswell on both sides of sun.

Thanks for the heads up @DavidB was fascinating. I haven’t been watching 131 as much as I usually do except concentrating on 14100 and 14105 which have unfortunately been disappointing us so far. Seeing explosions on limb of hope is great. Especially as Tamitha highlighted the rapid growth of what’s on the way up top soon!

The video of the filament that came off the south and then shot back towards the west was pretty cool.

I've been checking on the farside daily and have my eye on two areas. First is what looks like old AR4105 at about S15. This region seems to be still going through decay and emergence. Second is an area of steady new flux emergence around N25.

At least the far side wasn't particularly active, it was mostly east or west.

New Area with 2 little spot, now, under 4117, yesterday plage.

4+ now. Lots of growth in and around 14117/8, really hope it continues 😍

There is a new spot that has grown pretty rapidly today. Its located southeast of 4122, it really stands out in the AIA1600.

Welcome! We actually have a separate category for discussing new and unnumbered active regions. There are certainly a lot of small regions presently facing us. Surprised that we remain below C level flux with at least twelve on the board last time I looked! 😊

Thank you! Wasn't sure where to post it, thank you for the help.

Finally seeing some eastern limb activity. Dr Tamitha Skov in her most recent release was keeping an eye on farside activity. In particular old region 14114 which is possibly what we are beginning to see now. It was a BGD of respectable size and dealt us a couple of X class. Some hope for the next two weeks of a decent CME.

Be interesting to see what comes of those newer areas she mentioned.

The main spots have compressed and there seems to be fewer small spots leading it , but still looks fairly strong area .

First image was from last cycle the second the latest from the farside

Unfortunately 14115 looks weakened over the last 48 hours:

solo_LL02_phi-fdt-icnt_last.png

Might be something related to it being close to the edge causing PHI to become inaccurate, but I can't see the delta anymore. Raben is claiming it has barely weakened or grown slightly in the last 24 hours, not sure what it's based on but hopefully that's correct.
