For it to produce an M3 flare on the east limb it has to be a bit complex

Im looking af solar orbiter and j cant find a spot that has caused it

There's a new sunspot group on the far side, and one M3 gave out yesterday.

Been slowly making a simple NE limb video and finally decided to finish it last night as JSOC will be down for 6 hours for maintenance to fix data gaps.

Seriously, look at the magnetic lines in the center, they don't just arc, they have a reverse curve. Is it possible that the force magnetic lines of a coronal hole do that? It's also like they're jelly ) https://helioviewer.ias.u-psud.fr/?movieId=q73ZZ

That’s really cool looking. Love those loops too!

A lot of instability in the region(HARP 12111) trailing south of 4093, expecting a C3-M1 and the 4097 designation soon 👀

a bit of instability in the Xray flux a flare may be imminent.

A giant filament floats over the n-e limb, exactly where former region 4079 should appear in about 36-48 hours. Seems like we’re about to have a traditional limb disappointment

The STIX instrument on the farside Today has detected multiple flares from this Region Biggest being a possible M1. With multiple C class events A C8 and a C5 of course STIX isn't always the most reliable source but it is a Good indicator this Region also produced Something anywhere from An M1-M3 flare May 21st on May 20th STIX detected a Possible M9 Flare from 4079

SUVI 131 shows an epic coronal loop round the limb... maybe it's something, maybe it's nothing... we'll see!

That's AR14079 returning 😉

It's been pretty active on the Farside, according to the STIX instrument, so it's probably still complex. Someone's mentioned that also, we'll see if it produces something now that it's cresting the east limb soon.

Some fun looking coronal loops are getting closer and closer by the hour.

The colors are kinda funky because I accidentally made it HDR without editing towards wide color gamut.

Funky colors

Looks like the southern area has just turned the limb and is barely visible now . Also looking like the larger northern area has got some filaments near it .

A visible dent in the curvature as well 😄

Having seen the images before and after and using the grid for reference on jhelioviewer sorry to say I think that's a trick of the eye caused by the wavy nature of the protrusions around the limb at the moment .

Opened PS trying to trace the curvature to show it, but realised you're right. Got tricked by what I think is a filament along the limb to the left of the vertical ones.

Now you may have another look, hehe. It's peeking over the limb now.

I involuntarily said something out loud when I saw it starting to appear on the magnetogram.

Old 4079 cresting the eastern limb what a Trooper Looks identical to the April 28th rotation.

Not looking notably impressive aside from sheer size,

Oh boy, looks like we are popping off, hard, today on Sunday May 25th. Lets go.

Yeah just Impressive to see this Region survive another Rotation and maintain its size Even if it doesn't do us any good.

NH this region has been quite active on the limb lately and we are just beginning to see the extent of it now. Probably will be numbered soon. It probably is old 4079. Edit: I guess it received its official number of 4100 ( was 4079) however we don’t have HMI to comment on yet, so I’m gonna wait for someone else to start a thread. We need some action! Better produce this pass. 😆

Update and threatening words to region….

Yup. And although we may be at the end of the CME for the time being, another dude is on the way with fireworks hopefully to spare…. M class on the limb. Yay!
