Does look like something is approaching. P87 looks promising.

I don't know much about the quality of the map though.

(sorry if I am posing too much, I've just been pretty amped for some space weather stuff recently)

Been slowly making a simple NE limb video and finally decided to finish it last night as JSOC will be down for 6 hours for maintenance to fix data gaps.

I believe what we are seeing is what remains of 4036. According to solarham and jsoc farside models

no such thing as posting too much! your euphoria is contagious ☺️

There’s got to be more to that region turning the limb currently. I only see one polarity so far

Pretty dang big region about to turn the east limb! Can just barely start to see it on b&w magnetogram

I was looking at the coronal loops just south of the equator. They are looking pretty juicy today!

Looking at HMII seems like Something Big Is about to Rotate into view this should get interesting in 1-2 days.

Just starting to see it now. Definitely big!

I will have to check our “ regions due to return”. Haha. I won’t mention 2024 May ….

Only 14047 which left us at south 15 latitude and was quite unremarkable producing only a few C flares. This region looks more equatorial and possibly a new guy. Dunno.

(Gif courtesy of solarham) Definitely seems to be a new region based of this and seems to be growing nicely to (gong also puts this at p100 so definitely something interesting), also have another interesting region further pack that seems quite nice in size,

Hey everyone,

Thank you for all the beautiful far side imagery it would seem like there’s a region that’s grown quite quickly on the far side and is just coming into view on the eastern limb.

It’s quite bright on AIA 094, 171 and 335 but unclear whether it’s still growing from AIA 1600.

Hopefully this gives us some fireworks after getting teased by AR4055.

Here’s a screenshot of it I took from HMIIC.

Still unsure if this is new growth or an old region that’s woken up so any ideas would be much appreciated.

From a glance at the archive it doesn't seem to correspond to anything from the previous rotation at least. Most likely something new.

quiet entrance to say the least hopefully it picks up the pace and starts causing R1-R2 level blackouts it does seem big however we don't know the complexity of it yet so time will tell at this point.\ but hopefully its a good one hopefully a M Class flare faucet.

Please do elaborate more. As far as I know, nobody is going to charge you per character written. Tell, for example, why do you find these specific brightenings interesting.

Based on the constant reconfiguration of its loops since rotating into view I'm guessing it's actively growing and maybe(hope) delta. Hopefully it'll maintain this activity in the coming days.

We've talked about it a bit in the 4055 thread and it's suspected to be the source of a captured CME 2-3 days ago.

Gosh do I hope you are right;

But I honestly don't se much complexity at the moment, especially since we have a delta on the west limb right now to compare to.

It does look pretty tidy compared to 4055 :') But if it continues to develop, I imagine it could possibly get more tangled?

It is way too early to determine complexity as the magnetogram is never reliable for regions on the limb.

With all respect. 4055 was prolific in M class. What most of us would prefer is a nice series of Coronal Mass Ejections accompanying those M class flares. I am guessing that is your wish as well. 😊. To quote a former regular here: “ A proton sandwich “. Tnickck was ultimately correct on its arrival May 10 2024. Yay!

Keep in mind AR4055 is in close proximity to AR4058 while this new region may be a bit more isolated

Would be Nice if they Combined into one Complex mess Over its trip Across The farside.
