astrophotolab
Just found a comet-like object at lasco images (also visible at lasco C3 since 10th of june). My very first time when I see how comet appears on images. It is not very bright and huge but still a comet with a tiny tail Edited June 11 by astrophotolab 1

Is it possible that this is the output of "heavy particles" - the remnants of the proton ejection of the previous flare? I'm sorry if my question seems silly, I'm just learning to understand sunny weather.

And as I said earlier - it has a tail. 99% chance that this is a comet Edited June 11 by astrophotolab

Thank You.

I wonder if it is pons/brooks (Mother dragon comet) ?
Solution Jesterface23 Posted June 11 Solution Share Posted June 11 (edited) It is a comet, bright and with the tail. Whichever it is, it probably won't exist anymore in a few days. Edited June 11 by Jesterface23
damianvdb
Cool to see how clearly C2 is capturing the comet. Seems like it's behind the sun from C3's perspective now.

helios
Btw, LASCO (SOHO) has enabled the discovery of more than 5000 comets so far https://www.esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/Images/2024/03/SOHO_reaches_5000_comets
Ester89
I'm sorry if my suggestion seems silly, but could this be comet 154P/Brewington? I know that it reached its perihelion exactly on June
