Upon further inspection, it seems like there was some disagreement later in the discussion than i was active for.

Yep, still GOES eclipse season. To clarify, the eclipsing object is Earth, as the GOES satellites pass directly behind it around the equinoctes. This seems to be GOES-16, whose eclipse schedule you can find here (only a few days left now). The instance in question:
