Oh my God, would you please be so kind and stop saying such nonsense all the time? A filament is definitely not to blame for Goes' data problems and that alone doesn't fit in terms of time. You alone

I’m talking specifically about a filament eruption that could be the source. The bottom one you've circled there is a filament, but doesn't release until long after we started detecting protons; the top one is the CME in question as far as I can tell, and not a filament eruption.

Honestly tho. NOAA and NASA have both called it a filament eruption I guess not technically but say “eruption” pretty much indicates filament and they mention it numerous times that day in both forecast discussions. Read all the forecast discussions. It’s there, they even tell you exactly how they seen it. SUVI.. You seem to be the only person willing to die on that hill that it was a “double digit” X flare… More power to you I guess if that’s the hill you choose to die on lol

An eruption isn't confined to one term relating to filaments and prominences. Not how that works at all. They would specifically describe it as a filament eruption (which the second one was certainly not and easily distinguishable from the first) in the exact same manner as the first paragraph that you're pointing out. I've never seen a filament cause a coronal wave, especially one that can be seen traversing half of the solar surface. Also biggest issue with your statement is that they specifically stated it was more than likely the second eruption came from old AR 3989. The area you circled to the south was a prominence that didn't lift off during the farside flaring. Here's the video I made the showcases the fareside flare and the southern prominence not lifting until after the flare. https://youtu.be/DETa5cqzVFo?si=xvIurTIjbpjWnCIj

Nowhere in that summary is the eruption described as a filament eruption. The other one is described as being "associated with a large prominence"; that one was indeed a filament eruption (a prominence is an filament). It doesn't seem to be referring to the other one you circled, at the SW limb, which also appears to be a filament eruption.

The one in question on the other hand is described as "a large, explosive eruption". There's virtually zero chance that that was a filament eruption, and no agency has described it as such to my knowledge.

No idea where you get the notion that I'm claiming it was a "double-digit X-flare" from, I've never once made any such claim.

Just to make it clear, this part in particular is not true at all, and could be the source of a lot of confusion for you if you think it's true. CMEs are also frequently described as eruptions (as Parabolic also explains above), and flares are often described as eruptive or non-eruptive depending on whether or not they produce CMEs.

typo, filament clarification

Looks like a filament liftoff in the southern hemisphere occurred. Seems directed south but maybe we get a glancing blow

I wonder if more of that filament will rip off as it looks to be moving on the entire length across?

I certainly hope so. Those are by far one of my favorite types of eruptions. Especially if it was strong enough to create PEAL's (post eruption arcade loops)

Looks like another filament lift on the SW side going on?

Yup. Solid filament eruption is ongoing

Thanks for posting min!

I saw this on SUVI just now and though it must have been a filament rather than a flare since we didn't receive any protons or flux change as a result. Really beautiful !

It looks like a prominence just lifted from the south limb, probably not earth directed but a big one. I just noticed it on SUVI 304a

I made a space weather meme a moment ago with that one showing

So WHO broke the sun? She's (yes, she!) flatlining SO BAD :(

Hopefully you haven’t upset him!  One of us is clearly in the wrong here.  Ships and boats are definitely FM. However above our atm I dunno!!

There was just a small filament release toward the northeast limb, SUVI 304 captures it pretty well. Looks quite slow

Is that large filament that looks like "3" the same one we had a while back (rotated back?), or a new one?

Location seems identical.

We'll see if it let's go this time around !

It did a little flick thingy on the bottom part last time around. Looks like it built back up and changed shape a little bit while on the other side.

Yeah, I saw it moving / being really unstable looking around midnight UTC, then it looked like something shot out on the western limb right after that, in the same spot where more stuff shot out at about 02:00 UTC. Lots of movement from that filament's area, and now it looks like it's gone.
