Oh my God, would you please be so kind and stop saying such nonsense all the time? A filament is definitely not to blame for Goes' data problems and that alone doesn't fit in terms of time. You alone

I think there is some form of filament detaching in the west? @mozy

There's something happening around S18W90 or near where ar3730 existed. Is that what you're referring to?

Interesting note from @drkstrong on twitter. Images from exactly 1 solar rotation apart show how long this coronal hole has been around. Does this persistent coronal hole explain the imbalance of solar activity between hemispheres. Looks like quite a few active regions are moving in now, but throughout the last few months of the solar cycle, theres definitely been more activity in the southern hemisphere.

The coronal hole does grow over time, and the imbalance is very intriguing, I wonder why as well.

Hey seems like 3751 destabilised a filament to its south? Something lifted there, maybe something could come our way? Does look a little slow (might even get sucked back in?), but maybe it could be worth taking a look at it ^^

Looks like it was able to escape the corona. It is a bit slow and south. Hopefully it reaches us.

We have A RECORD of diming !

If you have a light bulb that hasn't dimmed so much before, maybe you should consider replacing it.

Hahaha, thats true.

On a side note, is the CME going too far south for earth impact?

I'm pretty sure it went way south.

Directed too far south and too slow for an Earth impact.

Do agree, seems the case with every CME recently.

At about 05:20 a filament broke off in the northwest of the sun, causing a CME that is difficult to see (due to the X1 CME from behind). Maybe we'll get something, but probably not because the CME is too north.

At 01:16 UTC a filament was destabilized north of 3775, which resulted in a CME. It seems directed to the north, and due to the earliness of the event I can't determine if we could get an impact

It isn't on the earth facing side but I think it was pretty cool. It happened about 2 hours ago. Edit: it was happening just as the day was changing in UTC timeInShot_20240808_200537721.gif

No filaments and prominences even though there are lots of sunspots as of 13 August 2024.

I can see several filaments and a few polar prominences. What do you mean by this exactly?

Where are they?

It was being erupted, the filament wasn't that big quiescently unfortunately.

If that's the case, then we might see a CME from this prominence towards the north in the LASCO images, right?

It was from the far side unfortunately

is there an associated cme?

Thanks for posting this !! I had stopped monitoring cme's since we didn't have any major flare players recently so I appreciate this !
