H-alfa_ 10-04-02_1024px

Kari A. Kuure

This image recalls the ended sunspot period 24. The image is from 2014, which was perhaps the most active year of the previous period. This year I have plenty of good prominence and sunspot pictures, this is one of them. The telescope was an LS100T H-alpha and the image is stacked with about a hundred individual images from the video. In addition to the telescope, a 2x Barlow lens has been used. The overexposed surface of the Sun is covered with a black mask.
