An impressive G3 storm pushed the aurora into the northern U.S. I managed to snap some pictures before cloud cover ended the show. All photos taken just north of Sun Prairie, WI.

Actually, as per the Potsdam KP index, this storm reached G4 levels (barely). This final KP index is not published for several weeks or a month after the time the data is from, so I thought it was a G3 too, only recently saw Potsdam made it G4 (KP 8-).  NOAA just left it at KP 7 though (I don’t think they revise the KP data they issue live, the one we all watch on SWL.)
