AR3799

As there wasn't a thread for this area I figured I get one started. AR3799 is at South 12 & East 30 as of 4:30am Arizona time 08/24/2024. It's 510 MSH, having nearly doubled in size overnight. The spot count is 20, having increased by almost 1/3 since yesterday & it's classed as Beta/Gamma magnetic complexity. While it's a little low in the Solar Globe it's not too low to produce some action in our direction.

Any updates on this sunspot is it able to do an X flare

There are others that are much more capable of explaining why this Sunspot, at this time is capable of producing an X Class flare, but I'll give it a shot. It's a small chance, but it's there. It's got okay size & some complexity, & I think it's got a penumbra. What it doesn't have is a Delta region (yet😉). So, it's got the capability of an X Class flare, it's just not a very good one.

AR3799 has increased slightly in size & number of individual spots. It's also right in the middle of the "Danger Zone" at East 02. It's not listed as having a Delta region but it looks like it's got a penumbra. Maybe someone smarter than me can chime in on that?🙏

Otherwise, if everyone crosses their fingers again we can get a little love from this sunspot. 💞😁
