Christopher Shriver
Imagine you find this website because pretty lights astound you. Years go by, and a lot of random people with overlapping interests begin to inhabit the community, growing off of one another. @Marcel de Bont I'd love to know where you were in the context of all discussion here, participating in the community over the years with everyone else. I came here a couple of years before you yourself dropped out and were effectively replaced by @Sam Warfel - you began to criticize from afar and failed to back yourself up with anything of substance. Quote But when it comes to unproven theories and people like yourself... oh boy... For instance, you have implied that I'm only reacting to a thread which is false. I don't mind the thread being locked or the reasoning for it; the confusion between what other people have criticized you for and what I'm criticizing you for is demonstrable in comment quotation. I don't wish to go down these tracks, but if you're going to throw a sucker punch like you love to do, feel free to say some snide, bitch shit before closing the thread to further commentary while completely ignoring the otherwise civil direct messages I've sent. This behavior is unforgivably average to what people on Twitter and Facebook do whenever their own ignorance shines: deflect, blame others, and pretend that only one side of a supposed narrative is sane. This has never had anything to do with one single thing. Imagine not wanting to take accountability for literal years of being like this. Imagine laying the floor for a verbal brawl while anticipating reciprocation and making sure I cannot reply, nor appear sane in any context due to this asymmetrical dynamic. tl;dr grr muh thread, so mad, so 1iq. That'd be easy to brush off, I guess. I have expected greater, and am met with the absolute lowest acceptable literacy in reciprocation to a perceived attack; who raised the initial alarm, again? Who was most bothered that they hit the nuke button, and decided to deflect all criticism thereafter based on a single action? How fucking stupid are you? By the way, Quote Seek help When this is said in a sarcastic manner as you have, I'm considering the gloves to have come off, and that any chance at civil resolution is being forfeited in favor of whatever attack can be mustered in the moment. Is this really the end-game when moderators lose their cool? They go after the regulars? I've seen it in so many places, and am more than happy to punch back at this stage of my life. Psst, I wasn't daring you to take a more serious action against me and what I've said. I really mean that you're self-destructing by not just hitting the "*** you" button to get rid of me. You and I both know that's actually an "I lose" button, but the website would win if you went full-fascist. Slava Ukraini!

The war between @Patrick P.A. Geryl and critics caused the unproven theories thread to go into a back-and-forth questioning and become dominated by one unproven theory (planetary alignment has effect on solar activity theory). Patrick used the unproven theories thread as a blog, posting his studies onto the thread. This disrupted people like @Philalethes, who once explained others' unproven theories. After the ban took effect, Patrick made this thread and had further COI with critics. The thread was then locked because of the COI. Sites like Wikipedia have conflict of interest noticeboards. I think we should let threads causing conflict of interest to be locked as soon as it becomes a problem. Edited August 14 by faster328
Marcel de Bont
Christopher, by making these kinds of posts you are exactly proving the point why we ban the unproven theories stuff. I haven't been super active on the forums that is correct but I have been watching of course. Sam does a great job watching these forums but he is busy now so I did my best to look after it while he is away in the limited time I have. The thing is, you can't seem to tolerate other opinions or decisions made by others that aren't up your alleyway. You are totally ignoring the fact that we own this message board and we can apply whatever rule we want. Yes, in a way this place is actually a dictatorship as we have full control over what we allow and do not allow here. Sure we can ask our community what they prefer as any good community manager would do, and we do that from time to time but right now we put on our dictatorship boots and gloves and made a new rule we want everyone to follow from now on. What that means is... you comply with the new rules or you find yourself a new home or make your own forums. It is so easy. ...oh and yes that comment you made there; Quote The moment they forget who the hell I am is when those restraints fail. That is so insane, who do you think you are? It is one of the most narcissistic things I have ever seen. This is an internet forum man. Chill. 4 uren geleden, Christopher Shriver zei: You and I both know that's actually an "I lose" button, but the website would win if you went full-fascist. Banning you would be like pressing the ''one headache less button'' actually. Thanks for yet again proving we made the right decision. Shame it had to end this way. Topic closed and button pressed. Quote Slava Ukraini! At least we have one thing we can agree on! 👍
