Suggestion: Elevated Topics

Recommended Posts

With the closure of "Unproven Theories" and the incidence of a forecasting philosophy problem in Pacific Meteorology, I have been motivated to provide some constructive feedback to my most beloved data sources. SWL is #2, behind NOAA. Love y'all.

The idea of a dumpster was sufficient for a time. Now it's gone. What about replacing that function with a pedestal for a subtype of discourse? We oft see jargon-riddled comments that would mean absolutely nothing to the popular masses. Rather, we used to, until crazy-talk became acceptable.

What if a sub-forum was created to facilitate more technical discussions of this nature? I bet @Jesterface23 @Philalethes etc. would love to exercise their wit among peers, rather than curate among thousands of comments. At present, Geomagnetic and Solar activity are divided, and that's it. I can brainstorm some ideas for credible discourse tracks, if you want?

The answer pretty much already came up under Solar Activity with the what region topics should be named as thing that happened. Sub-forums aren't going to happen.

"Unproven Theories" is still fairly freshly closed and still somewhat exists. But in due time everyone will adapt to the new normal and we'll see what works and what doesn't.
