Tamara Ruggeri
Hi, I'm a beginner at this whole thing, but I've noticed this glowy star-like thing, is it a comet or mercury? It's very bright!

It's very bright! That’s Venus! It occasionally passes near the sun. It is indeed very bright, Venus is one of/the brightest objects in the night sky as seen from Earth after the moon. It’s bright because it’s closer to the sun, is light-colored so it reflects more light, and is decently large sized. This page shows you the paths and dates of all the bright objects who transit through LASCO: https://sungrazer.nrl.navy.mil/transits_2022
