Youcef
We are currently in a solar wind stream flowing from a southern coronal hole from the sun. This has already sparked a sustained G1 storm. The magnetosphere is coming dangerously close to geosynchronous orbit while it is showing deformations and signs of collapse especially the inner electron belt. Vancanneyt Sander
Magnetosphere is not collapsing! Don’t fall for that. Next time it will be moderated....

Christopher S.
Why do people who clearly know only entry-level information about a subject often insist on making revelatory proclamations about it, especially in the company/audience of people who know more? Look, if you simply don't know something, that's perfectly fine! Ask questions! We all make mistakes. However, if you don't know even the basics of how something works, don't go and raise alarms to other people who know even less, that is extremely irresponsible and the absolute last thing that NOAA or similar organizations want their published information to be used for. How can you possibly educate and inform the public with misinformation? The result is fear and panic with no consequence to you. Don't be a jerk and say things to make people scared that are simply untrue.

So much for free speech, even here this is unreal and sad. 5 hours ago, Christopher S. said: Why do people who clearly know only entry-level information about a subject often insist on making revelatory proclamations about it, especially in the company/audience of people who know more? See happens to all of us I'm not trying to educate anyone, just expressing my own opinion and don't need approval for that. My basic human rights says I can do this. As for the magnetosphere Nasa say it themselves it is weakening and the ionosphere is not where it is supposed to look it up. If expressing my opinion makes me a jerk call me Mr jerk.

Vancanneyt Sander
With every geomagnetic storm the magnetosphere gets compressed and does not collapse. During severe geomagnetic storms it gets compressed further till the geosynchronous orbit is reached and satellites are exposed to the radiation that could result in loss of satellite or damaged satellites. It does not mean that the magnetosphere is collapsing. Yes the magnetosphere is weakening, but at this rate it’s still more than thousands years away from reaching its lowest point. So nothing to ring any alarms. and yes we moderate because fake news doesn’t have a place here! 3

I express my opinion the reader decides whether he agrees or not. You are basically very subtly telling me to endorse your opinion whether I believe it or not. And threathening with actions if I do not follow like a sheep. We all know what this means no need to explain. Btw I meant a partial temporary collapse when the van allen discharged and I'm 100% sure you perfectly understood that. But saw an opportunity to do your thing. Well done. Btw Nasa has been caught several times deleting data on it's servers that got accidentally out to the public which also involved the magnetosphere. Shht I will be silent from now on no more posting annoying videos I promise. Only what consus want to see. I'll just post the truth somewhere else.
