Isatsuki San
Can some solar cycles last less than 11 years?
Marcel de Bont
Absolutely. The average solar cycle lasts about 11 years but there have been cycles that lasted only 9 years and even one that was 14 years long if I recall correctly.
Isatsuki San
could solar cycle 24 really have lasted 11 years because I was seeing that in 2018 and 2019 with few sun spots as a solar minimum, that would be why the high activity of 2020 happened in November I know that it does not make much sense but what if 2020 wanted to be a 2010 in solar activity? Vancanneyt Sander
December 2008 till December 2019, exactly 11 years if you look at the cycle graph, in 2018/2019 we where still in the declining phase before the solar minimum.
